Hier, c’était sortie culturelle à Paris. Donc juste un petit mot sur Félix Valloton (1865 – 1925), peintre et graveur franco-suisse, qui semble n’en avoir fait qu’à sa tête. Les amateurs d’images connaissent plutôt ses xylographies mais la surprise venait des peintures qui semblent avoir influencé pas mal d’illustrateurs – sa peinture un peu plate rappelle les techniques à l’acrylique. Difficile de parler de tout car Valloton était très éclectique ‑oscillant entre peinture soignée et délire très relâché – mais certains tableaux ont gardé une modernité impressionnante.

Oui, j’ai vu le doc. Sa peinture m’interpelle vraiment beaucoup. Il faudra que je recreuse. On connait peu sa peinture parce qu’elle n’a pas été diffusée comme celle de ses contemporains et il n’y a aucune séduction qui aurait pu la rendre populaire.
