Après avoir terminé le cycle de Tschaï et Fantôme blanc, Jean-David Morvan, scénariste/adapteur sur Tschaï me propose de réaliser une adaptation BD d’un classique de la littérature pour la collection Ex-Libris qu’il a lancé chez Delcourt. Après réflexion et sur les conseils d’Appollo, je finis par me décider pour Boule de Suif. Je pense avoir réalisé une adaptation assez fidèle de la célèbre nouvelle de Guy de Maupassant.
Boule de Suif, prostituée connue, voyage avec une troupe de notables et un faux révolutionnaire qui tentent d’échapper aux Prussiens en 1870. Remarquée par un officier ennemi, elle est poussée à coucher avec ce dernier pour permettre à la diligence de repartir.
